Man seriously injured after Hamilton assault

A man is in hospital after receiving serious injuries from an assault in Hamilton this afternoon.

Police said they received reports of the incident on Victoria Street around 4.15pm.

The man was rushed to hospital via ambulance in a serious condition, according to St Johns.

Police are still working to understand the circumstances of the assault.
