Team morale for Mali at this year's women's Basketball World Cup in Australia is at an all-time low after teammates were caught on camera throwing punches at each other following their most recent loss last night.
Mali went down 81-68 to Serbia in Sydney to take their fourth loss in four games at this year's tournament, extinguishing any faint chance they had of making the quarter-finals.
Serbia's efforts were led by Sasa Cado who scored 20 points on 6-from-10 three-pointer shooting while adding three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Cado was being interviewed in the media zone about her performance shortly after the match when a commotion kicked off just behind her.
The Serbian guard turned around and was visibly shocked by what she saw; two Mali teammates - Salimatou Kourouma and Kamite Elisabeth Dabou - locked in a brawl with Kourouma throwing at least three punches.
Other Mali players quickly tried to break the fight up but the shocking incident had already been caught on camera.
It comes after Mali opened their disappointing campaign with losses to Japan, hosts Australia and also France before last night's defeat, leaving them as one of only two squads at the 12-team tournament without a win so far.
It doesn't get any easier for the African nation either with their final pool game against group leaders Canada this afternoon.
Mali came to this year's tournament after African champions Nigeria were withdrawn from the event by their government due to issues in the country's basketball organisation.
