Person dies following Marlborough house fire

A person has died from their injuries shortly after being rescued from a Seddon house fire on Thursday evening.

Police said emergency services were called to the property on Weld Street just after 7:30pm.

A person was removed from the building in critical condition but passed away at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, police said.
