One dead in crash between car, pedestrian on Waikato Expressway

One person has died after a crash between a car and a pedestrian on the Waikato Expressway on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called to the crash at 6.23pm and the southbound lane was closed.

Lanes in both directions have now been closed and diversions are in place.

The Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
