One dead after two-vehicle crash in Tauranga overnight

One person has died following a two-vehicle crash in Tauranga overnight, police have said.

Emergency services were called to State Highway 29A, Matapihi, just after 11pm on Friday.

Police said two people were taken to hospital in a serious condition, and one died at the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
