Landslip blocks main route between Nelson and Christchurch

A slip is blocking a highway serving as the main route between Nelson and Christchurch.

Police say they have been alerted to a slip blocking both lanes of Wakefield-Kohatu Highway (SH6).

Traffic management is being put in place on Wednesday evening.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route.
