Imported medicinal marijuana has been available to Kiwis with a doctor's prescription for just over a year.

But now, locally grown cannabis is becoming more readily available.

Waikato-based medicinal cannabis company Cannasouth has just had its first harvest.

Seven Sharp reporter Lucas de Jong went along to check out their haul in the video above.
