Pedestrian dies after being hit by truck on expressway

A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a truck on the Hawke's Bay Expressway on Thursday afternoon.

Police say the incident happened near the Meeanee Road off-ramp just before 4.30pm.

The Serious Crash Unit is examining the crash scene and the road remains closed.
