A person with Covid-19 has died at North Shore Hospital in Auckland, the Ministry of Health has announced.

The person had a number of underlying health conditions, the ministry said.

The patient, who was in their 70s, was admitted to hospital on January 21.

There were 103 community cases of Covid-19 recorded on Sunday.
