Person injured after pallets catch fire in Thames

November 22, 2021

One person has sustained burn injuries after a pallet fire in Thames on Monday afternoon.

Four pumps and one tanker are at the scene after the fire broke out on Kopu Road at 2.45pm, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson told 1News.

The fire is endangering nearby buildings.

One patient has since been transported to Thames Hospital in a moderate condition, a St John spokesperson says.
