Woman fighting for life after being shot in West Auckland

A woman is fighting for life after being shot in West Auckland overnight.

Police were called to a property in New Lynn around midnight, where they found a woman with a serious gunshot wound.

A man, 26, has been arrested and has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

The victim is critically ill in Auckland Hospital.

No-one else is being sought.
