One person has died following a two-car crash in the Waikato on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash on State Highway 1, near the Ngutuwera Stream Bridge, in Lichfield, about 2pm, police said.
One person died at the scene, while a second person was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The road has since reopened following a scene examination.
The circumstances of the crash are now under investigation.
