West Australia Police are offering a AU$1 million (NZ$1.04 million) reward to help find a missing four-year-old Cleo Smith.

She was last seen on early Saturday morning sleeping in a tent with her mother and stepfather.

The child was wearing a pink one-piece sleepsuit with a blue and yellow pattern. Her red and black sleeping bag was also completely missing.

WA Premier Mark McGowan joined officials to announce the reward at a press conference this afternoon, appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Deputy commissioner Col Blanch told reporters that “someone in our community knows that happened to Cleo”.

“Someone has the knowledge that can help. Now there's a million reasons why you need to come forward.”

There are more than 100 police personnel on the case, supported by additional volunteers.

“Today's announcement of the AU$1 million reward (NZ$1.04 million) is a significant step towards establishment of finding where Cleo is.”

Police have said the position of the zip on the tent was up so high, there was no way the child could have opened it herself.

It has since been seized for examination by a forensic team.

Investigators say they now believe Cleo was taken from the tent.
