The secondhand economy is seeing a boom under lockdown, with Kiwis looking for an extra bit of cash putting items up for sale on TradeMe.
The latest data says we each have around 28 items - or $1700 worth - that are fit for resale.
TradeMe Marketplace head Ivan Fuyala says the online auction site is seeing popular demand in the last seven days for outdoor furniture and caravans.
“People are optimistically thinking about road trips and maybe a few beers and a barbecue.”
He said there have also been an increase in searches involving outdoor activities, such as kayaks and mountain bikes.
Searches for televisions and couches, meanwhile, have increased for those who are more inclined to the great indoors.
Meanwhile, Seven Sharp hosts Hilary Barry and Jeremy Wells have their own items to put up for sale on TradeMe , with proceeds going to Women's Refuge.
