A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a truck on State Highway 2 at Nukuhou, near Whakatāne on Tuesday morning.

Police said the crash involved a motorcycle and a truck around 9.35am.

The motorcyclist died at the scene.

Inquires into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
