Black Caps lose T20 World Cup warm-up match to Australia

The Black Caps have lost their warm-up match against Australia ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup, in the final over.

Batting first in Abu Dhabi in the UAE, New Zealand’s top order impressed with the bat.

First time opener Daryl Mitchell retired on 33 runs while Kane Williamson top-scored with 37.

Jimmy Neesham’s cameo late in the innings guided New Zealand to 158 runs.

That form continued in the field for the Black Caps with David Warner out caught behind by Martin Guptil off Tim Southee.

Mitchell Santner and Trent Boult also bagged a wicket each for New Zealand but the Aussies sealed victory in the final over by three wickets.
