Not long ago, the Lott family was watching a documentary profiling an American contractor, billed as the 'oldest bulldozer driver in the world' - he was 85.
The Lotts from North Canterbury said "we can top that" because on the Pahau riverbed, just south of Culverden, is Dave Lott and his trusty terrier, Tui.
The river flooded recently, so Dave has been contracted to build up the banks.
Watched on by his son Billy, and grandchildren Henry, George and Charlotte, Dave's working full days - long days.
Not bad for a man born in 1929, 92 years ago.
"I don't like hanging around home all day, gets bloody boring," Dave told Seven Sharp.
"You get around the country [as a bulldozer], you're not in the one place, doesn't get monotonous."
For years, Dave ran a Waiau-based contracting business, back in the age of original cab-less dozers.
Dave's son Billy runs the business now, with a third generation of Lotts - nine-year-old Henry - also learning the ropes in the driver's seat.
