Police are seeking to identify a number of people seen walking through a Mt Albert walkway on the day Lena Zhang Harrap was allegedly murdered late last month.
Lena Zhang Harrap, 27, went for a walk in the Mt Albert area at around 6.30am on Wednesday, September 22 and was reported missing by her family later that day after failing to return.
Her body was discovered by a member of the public later that afternoon.
Her alleged killer, a 31-year-old man, has been remanded without plea and is set to appear in the Auckland High Court next month.
Police have identified 29 people captured on CCTV walking through the walkway linking Grande Avenue and Summit Drive, near Owairaka/Mt Albert Domain, between 7.30am and 10.10am on the day Zhang Harrap was allegedly murdered, Detective Senior Sergeant Geoff Baber said in a statement.
Baber said the majority of the people's identities are unknown and police are looking to speak with them.

"We know this walkway was frequented by a significant number of people and it’s vital that we are able to identify and speak with everyone who used this walkway on the morning Lena was killed," he said.
"It’s important that any information, no matter how small or irrelevant you think it may be, is provided to police."
Anyone who used the walkway or was in the immediate vicinity around Grande Ave or Summit Drive on the morning of Wednesday, September 22 is asked to contact the investigation team on 0800 DALEYZA (0800 325 399) or call 105, quoting file number 210922/0539.
