Four arrests after person shot in back in Invercargill

Four people have been arrested after a person received gunshot wounds to their back in Invercargill on Saturday.

Three men and a woman were arrested after search warrants were carried out. 

A 26-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man have been charged with firearms offences, while a 36-year-old man has been charged with drug and firearms offences.

All of them are due to appear in the Invercargill District Court on Thursday. 

A 25-year-old man has been charged with offences in relation to possession of ammunition, resisting and assaulting police. 

He has already appeared in court and was remanded in custody to October 12.

"Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and as the matter is before the court police are not in a position to comment further at this time."
