Name revealed of man accused of killing Auckland teen

The name of the man accused of murdering a 16-year-old girl in the Auckland suburb of Manurewa last month can now be revealed.

Name suppression for 23-year-old Vikhil Krishna lapsed today.

At the Auckland High Court today Krishna entered a plea of not guilty through his lawyer.

He was remanded in custody until his trial in February of 2023.

The body of the 16-year-old was discovered in a property on McVilly Road in Manurewa on the afternoon of Saturday 11th September.

Her name is still suppressed at the request of her family and this will be reviewed by the Court on December 8.
