1 NEWS Tonight host Jenny Suo didn’t know New Zealand had gone into a nationwide Alert Level 4 after spending four days on a tramping trip without internet.
Suo shared a picture on her Instagram story that was captioned “Guys I just got out of the bush after four days with no internet” and “we’re in lockdown”.
Breakfast weather presenter Matty McLean tweeted a screengrab of Suo’s story.
“Guys Jenny Suo didn’t know we’d gone into lockdown cos she was tramping!!!!”
Suo managed to make it back to Auckland by Wednesday night after getting a ride from Punakaiki to Greymouth and Hokitika before flying to Christchurch and then on to Tāmaki Makaurau.

She joked that she should have stayed in the mountains.
