Grey Lynn fire.

One person has been seriously injured and a main road has been closed after a fire broke out in the Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn Saturday evening.

Police say emergency services were called to the property between Northland St and Coleridge St around 5.45pm.

“Police are assisting with traffic management and diversions are being put in place,” a police spokesperson said.

At the time, Fire and Emergency NZ said the fire was in a block of flats and is "well involved".

The fire has now been extinguished and one fire crew remains to dampen down hotspots.
