Former NRL superstar Roger Tuivasa-Sheck spent a significant amount of time training at fullback during Auckland practice today as his rugby union debut nears.
Tuivasa-Sheck was filmed hitting and holding tackle shields at Auckland's session today at Alexandra Park before moving on to position-based work.
The 28-year-old was able to join Auckland's squad earlier than initially expected this season after the Warriors released him early from his contract to avoid quarantining as the trans-Tasman Covid-19 bubble closed.
Before joining the Roosters in the NRL, Tuivasa-Sheck played rugby union for Otahuhu College and was a member of the 2011 New Zealand Secondary Schools team which featured current All Blacks Patrick Tuipulotu and Ardie Savea.
While parts of Tuivasa-Sheck's game still need to be ironed out, it's believed he could be in line for a debut next weekend against Tasman at Eden Park.
