Police have issued a public appeal for information after a person was found dead following a “vehicle-related incident” in Waipa overnight.
Anyone who was travelling along Owairaka Valley Road between 10pm on Wednesday and 2.30am Thursday is urged to get in contact with police, particularly if they have dashcam footage.
“Police are also interested in any information about someone walking or running along this stretch of road between those hours,” a spokesperson told 1 NEWS.
Emergency services were called to an incident along the road near the intersection of Mellsop Road at around 2.30 am.
“Sadly one person was located deceased at the scene, however, the circumstances are unclear at this stage.”
