Woman in her 60s switches career to teaching

Sometimes you can feel like you're in a rut, stuck in a job and feeling like it's too late in life to make a change.

Well then 65-year-old teacher Annie Jones is about to blow your mind.

That's because she decided to chuck in her previous career and become a teacher.

Jones is lead teacher of literacy at Picton's Queen Charlotte College for Year 7 and 8 students.

Her career until this point was in medical imaging, but it wasn't quite right.

"I guess there's always been a teacher in me. I loved being at home with my children when they were preschoolers," Jones said.

"I loved teaching sport when I was at school, even though I worked in medical imaging I ended up teaching that as well."
