Person dies after truck and van collide in Rolleston

One person has died following a crash between a truck and van in Rolleston, Canterbury this morning.

In a statement police said the collision on Maddisons Road occurred at about 4.50am.

"The van driver sadly died at the scene," a police spokesperson said.

"The truck driver was uninjured and no one else was involved in the crash."

The road remains closed.

A police investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
