There are no new cases of Covid-19 to report in the community today, the Director-General of Health says.
However, Dr Ashley Bloomfield said there were two new cases in managed isolation to report.
The first case is a person who arrived on August 6 from Sri Lanka, via Qatar. They tested positive on day three of their stay in an Auckland MIQ facility.
The second case is a person who arrived on August 9 from Mexico, via the USA. They tested positive on arrival. This person is also in an Auckland MIQ facility.
Two previously reported cases have now also recovered, meaning the number of active cases in New Zealand stands at 37.
That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country since the start of the pandemic to 2548.
Yesterday, 6287 Covid-19 tests were processed across New Zealand. The total number of tests carried out to date is 2.53 million.
The NZ COVID Tracer app now has 2,913,020 registered users.
Posters have been scanned 321,039,279 times and users have created 12,620,599 manual diary entries. In the past 24 hours to midnight yesterday, posters have been scanned 519,531 times.
As of midnight, 2.29 million Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in New Zealand. That's an increase of more than 46,600 doses from yesterday - a new daily record.
Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said about 850,000 Kiwis are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
More than 127,000 Māori have received their first dose of the vaccine. Of these, almost 79,000 have also had their second vaccinations.
Meanwhile, about 86,000 vaccine doses have been administered to Pasifika. Of this group, more than 53,000 have also received their second doses.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health confirmed all port workers in Tauranga who came into contact with Covid-19-positive crew members from the Rio De La Plata container ship have returned at least one negative test result.
Additional test results required for some port staff have also come back negative, but six results are pending.
The ship has now left New Zealand for Malaysia with its asymptomatic crew members aboard.
Whole genome sequencing has been completed for the crew aboard the Rio De La Plata. It revealed eight of the crew had the Delta variant of Covid-19. The samples of the remaining three cases didn't return a result.
Another ship, the Mattina, remains berthed in Bluff. As of this morning, 13 of its original crew of 21 remain aboard the vessel.
Five crew members who returned negative Covid-19 test results, including the captain, have now completed 14 days’ managed isolation.
A sixth mariner, who has a historic Covid-19 infection, remains in managed isolation in Christchurch.
Fifteen mariners on the Mattina tested positive for the virus. Only three have yet to recover.
