Youth arrested after Hamilton shooting leaves teenager in critical condition

A youth has been arrested after a Hamilton shooting left a teenager in critical condition.

Police say the incident occurred on Tuesday and the victim remains in Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.

"A local youth was today taken into custody and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm," police said in a statement.

They are expected to appear in Youth Court tomorrow.
