Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Auckland's Mt Roskill

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Auckland's Mt Roskill this afternoon.

Police were called to the incident on Richardson Rd, near the intersection with Whitmore Rd, around 12.40pm.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit will be looking into the incident.

Auckland Transport says, "motorists are advised that a section of Richardson Road is currently closed and diversions will be in place."

Police have confirmed to 1 NEWS there is no indication that this was a hit and run.
