One dead, two injured in two-car Waikato crash

One person has died and two others are injured after a crash between two cars in Waikato this afternoon.

Police said they were called to the crash shortly before 3.30pm at the intersection of Pipiroa Road and Rawerawe Road. 

An elderly woman died at the scene of the crash despite treatment, according to Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopters.

A man in his 80s was flown to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition with the third person transported to hospital by ambulance.
