Two people have been injured after a crash in Ruapehu District this evening.
Fire and Emergency NZ received a call at 6.15pm about the crash on Pipiriki-Raetihi Rd.
On arriving at the scene, they found a car had rolled trapping two people inside.
It took emergency services one hour to extricate them from the vehicle.
A rescue helicopter was sent to transfer the individuals to hospital, one of whom is in critical condition, the other serious.
Police and ambulance are also at the scene.
Another serious crash in Wairoa between two vehicles this evening has left a section of State Highway 2 closed.
The incident happened around 5:40pm at Raupunga.
A third crash in wellington this afternoon on State Highway One, Centennial Drive, left one person critically injured.
