First woman to complete NZ Army infantry training honoured for her efforts

Back in 1978, a brave young woman by the name of Sue Gingles successfully completed her New Zealand Army infantry corps training.

That made her the very first woman to make it through the programme which trains our soldiers for combat.

However it was only yesterday, some 43 years later, that Sue received official recognition.

Seven Sharp's Jendy Harper was at Burnham Military Camp for the emotional ceremony in the video above.
