Three people injured, section of State Highway 5 closed in Bay of Plenty crash

Three have been injured and a section of State Highway 5 was closed after a two-vehicle Bay of Plenty crash this afternoon.

Police say the crash occurred about 3.10pm on a stretch of road in Iwitahi.

Three people have been injured, with the severity of their injuries currently unknown.

The section of SH5 has now re-opened according to police.
