A motorcyclist has died after crashing with a car in Mount Maunganui this afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at the intersection on Exeter Street and Eversham Road shortly before 2.30pm.
The motorcyclist was transported to hospital where they later died, police said in a statement today.
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified and police say inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
