Porirua rattled by 4.5 magnitude earthquake

Geonet has recorded a 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Wellington's Porirua this evening.

The quake, which started at 6.15pm, was located 10km north-east of Porirua at a depth of 25km.

At least 12,901 people have noted a report on the Geonet website.

It was originally recorded as a 4.2 magnitude quake but was upgraded to 4.5 by Geonet.
