Extra spaces in managed isolation are being released over the next few days.

The tickets, which will be slowly added to the MIQ website to avoid a system overload, offer spaces for April and May.

Over 1000 extra vouchers are being released, mainly as a result of airline schedules changing daily.

The facilities had previously been booked out until June, causing stress for many Kiwis abroad struggling to get home amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Those seeking tickets have been advised to keep refreshing the allocation page.

"This is the system working the way it was supposed to and people are advised to refresh the calendar when searching for a date to book their voucher," an MIQ spokesperson told 1 NEWS.
