A police investigation is underway after the death of a man in Kawerau in Bay of Plenty this morning.
A man with injuries was found at the intersection of Newall and Whittaker streets at about 7.10am, Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Wilson says.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and police are describing his death as "suspicious".
"Police are working to determine the circumstances of his death," Wilson says.
