Ten new Covid-19 cases recorded in NZ in past two days

The Ministry of Health has reported ten new cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand for the past two days.

All of today's new cases were found at the border.

One person arrived from Netherlands, one from Italy, two from the United States, two travelling separately from India, one from Germany, and two from the United Kingdom on separate routes. The final new case's travel itinerary is still being confirmed.

All of the new cases, who arrived between December 4 and 13, are in quarantine in either Auckland or Christchurch.

As previous cases have since recovered, New Zealand's total number of active Covid-19 cases sits at 51.

New Zealand has had 1754 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.

There has been more than 1.36 million tests for the virus carried out in New Zealand.

The Government's Covid Tracer now has 2.41 million registered users. 

Today's information was given for the past two days as the Ministry of Health is scaling back how frequently it provides updates.
