Police identify 85-year-old pedestrian killed after being hit by a car in Nelson

Police have released the identity of an elderly pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Nelson earlier this month.

She was Joan Todd, 85, of Nelson.

Police say she was struck by a car at the intersection of Trafalgar Street and Bridge Street on December 3.

"Our sympathies are with her family and loved ones at this time," police say.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
