Person drowns near Ocean Beach in Whangarei Heads

A person has drowned near Ocean Beach in Whangarei.

Police say they were notified of a water related incident in Whangarei Heads at 2.55pm.

Emergency services attended the scene where the person died.

The death will be referred to the Coroner.
