Fallen tree on State Highway 1 near Dunedin causes two-car crash and road closure

Emergency services are at the scene after a fallen tree north of Dunedin caused a two-car crash which has close State Highway 1.

Police said they were called to the crash near Seacliff at about 12.10pm.

Initial indications were that there had been injuries, but no further details was available.

The highway is being closed, with diversions to be put in place.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
