Police release identity of man killed in east Auckland house fire

Police have released the identity of a man killed in an Auckland house fire on Tuesday night.

He was Wiremu Arapo, aged 27, of east Auckland.

Police say a karakia was performed at the Cockle Bay address yesterday by local kaumātua.

Police and Fire and Emergency NZ are not treating the fire as suspicious and the man's death will be referred to the coroner.
