Two men in hospital after being shot in Ellerslie, Auckland overnight

Two men were taken to hospital last night after being shot in the Auckland suburb of Ellerslie.

Police said they responded to a firearms incident last night about 8.55pm, and two people suffered serious injuries.

It's understood the incident took place on Arthur Street.

Police have said they are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
