The public has been urged to avoid a Hastings intersection after a car crashed into a building this afternoon, causing a gas leak.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Heretaunga Street West, at the intersection with Charles Street, at around 12.30pm, police said.
No one was injured in the incident.
Cordons are in place at the scene.
