Auckland's Sky Tower, Sydney Opera house light up to celebrate Women's Football World Cup

New Zealand and Australia haven’t wasted any time in celebrating winning hosting rights of the 2023 Women’s Football World Cup.

Earlier this morning, football’s governing body FIFA announced that the two countries will share the 2023 tournament, beating out competition from the likes of Colombia and Japan.

As a result, two of the southern hemisphere’s iconic structures have been lit blue as part of the “As One” bid campaign, with the Sky Tower and the Sydney Opera House turning it on in celebration.

Matches will be hosted in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton and Dunedin in New Zealand, and Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Newcastle in Australia.
