The first real snapshot of how New Zealand’s economy fared through the Covid-19 pandemic will be revealed today, with the latest GDP figures set to be released this morning.

The first quarter figures will include the first week of the Level 4 lockdown.

Commentators say it will likely show our economy contracted for the first time in nine years.
