One person dead after car crashes down bank on Christchurch's Summit Road

One person died after a car plummeted down a bank on Summit Rd. (Source: Other)

A person has died after the car they were in plummeted down a bank in Christchurch.  

Police were called to the scene of the serious crash on Summit Road in Sumner just before 11am. 

Summit Road has since closed at the intersection with Evans Pass Road while emergency services are attending. 

Police say anyone who is currently in the Godley Head Park area will be able to leave through the cordon.
