Pedestrian seriously injured after accident involving car near Rotorua

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after an accident involving a car in Ngongotaha, near Rotorua today.

Police say they were called to the incident on Operiana Street at about 2.45pm today.

"While the driver of the vehicle initially left the scene, they have since been located and are speaking with Police," police say in a statement.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
