A fire investigator will this morning be at the scene of a now-contained blaze in Rolleston , Christchurch.

Yesterday, thick black smoke billowed into the sky as firefighters battled for control of the blaze.

At the time, 14 crews with about 50 firefighters were battling the blaze on Weddons Road.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand told 1 NEWS firefighters left the scene about 11.30 last night, but that crews and a fire invesitgator will return this morning.
