There were long queues outside New Zealand supermarkets today after they were closed yesterday for Good Friday.

Supermarkets are one of few places open for Kiwis to shop during the Level 4 coronavirus lockdown.

They have enacted limits on the number of people allowed in at any one time.

There were reports of wait times in excess of an hour today, with 1 NEWS cameras filming long queues at a number of stores in the Wellington region.
